Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 2 March, 2009 : – - Rosanne Hodge, South Africa’s only representative on the 2009 ASP Women’s World Tour, is through to Round 3 of the of the opening event of the year, the Roxy Pro Gold Coast presented by LG Mobile.

Rosanne Hodge, the sole South African on the 2008 ASP Women’s World Tour, recorded her best event result of the year at the Billabong Pro Maui despite narrowly losing out to former seven-time World Champion Layne Beachley (AUS) in the first Quarterfinal match-up this morning. The Billabong Pro – Maui is underway with Rose pushing through to the quarter finals. Today (day 4) has been called a “Lay Day” (off day) due to the swell being a bit small. (click through to read more)

During her last few weeks on Oahu, Rosy managed to safely re-qualify for the 2009 WCT and met up with Jim Russi, Jeff Hornbaker and Sunny Miller to build on her rapidly growing portfolio whilst snagging a couple of nuggets at the infamous ‘Backdoor’ and ‘Off the Wall’. (click through for more)

Rosy Hodge Scores a Fifth Place at Reef Hawaiian Pro, Requalifies for 2009 World Tour!

East London-born World Tour surfer Rosy Hodge placed a well-deserved fifth-place in the Reef Hawaiian Pro to secure her berth on the Women’s World Tour for 2009. At the time of going to press Rosy was sitting a very comfortable third place on the World Qualifying Series ratings, and is a confirmed starter on the 2009 tour.
